MOVE

Moving an existing site

A migration is a reviewed, assisted process. Keep the existing hosting available while a recoverable copy is prepared and tested on HostRyx.

Request migration review

Describe the existing website

Select I already have a WordPress website in your request. Include the current provider, domain, approximate files and database size, important plugins and any custom behaviour.

Mention email hosting, scheduled tasks, redirects, orders, memberships and integrations. Do not include passwords, private backup files or API tokens in the initial request.

Agree scope and access

The team reviews compatibility, available capacity, secure access arrangements, the migration window and who approves the switch. Migration assistance is not an automatic import tool.

Confirm any separately priced work, premium software licences and third-party dependencies before proceeding. Website hosting and business email are separate services unless explicitly included.

Test the temporary copy

Once the approved HostRyx service is prepared and activated, its assigned temporary HTTPS address provides a place to review the copied website before pointing your domain at it.

Check pages, media, forms, logins and redirects. Stores and membership sites need a plan for the final data sync so new orders and account changes are not lost. Avoid real charges during tests.

Connect the domain and observe

After accepting the test copy, use Domains & SSL to verify ownership, routing and HTTPS. Coordinate the final sync and domain switch with the team.

Keep the previous host for the agreed rollback period. A copied homepage alone does not prove that the complete website is ready, and zero downtime cannot be promised without reviewing the actual setup.

Keep exploring.
